Insurance Providers
Hello every one!
I am new (as you may see). My name is Tracy, I have been overweight my entire life, and after having two kids, I am ready to start looking into my options. I am not entirely sure that surgery is the direction I want to go, but I do want to look into it. However, I know that there are often insurance issues,
My husband has just taken a new job, and suddenly we have insurance options. Lot's of options. What I am trying to figure out if anyone has advice as to which insurance companies are most likely to approve the surgery, Kaiser? Blue Shield? UC Davis? There is no way that I could afford the surgery with out coverage.
You all seem so inspiring. I am very excited to find a group of people who understand.
Thank you
tracy, welcome!! I am kinda new too. I have Blue Cross, and have been told by a few people on this site that that is the best to have for weight loss surgery: only 1-2 weeks for approval, and no 6 month diet program first. They do require we go to a center of medical expertise, which means our local surgeon couldn't do it and we are driving 6 hours round trip. Good luck. Fern
