Does anyone have any suggestions? I am a self-pay, but price isn't really an issue. Just looking for a psychiatrist that has experience with bariatric patients. I live around Sacramento, but would be willing to travel about an hour or so.

Only thing I can think of for you is to call your surgeons office. They will have a list of referrals.  They may even have  one in their office. My Dr. has one on site but he is in Arcadia CA, I am not sure how far that is from you but I am sure it is most likely more than an hour. I am not sure how long ago you had your surgery but what about the one you went to for your psych eval? Here is a number 888 231-3000  that may be able to help you they will give you a list of the docs.that"s what I had to do I could not afford to be a self pay so I could not go to the one my bariactric doctor has. I hope this helps. When you call the number the people giving you the numbers will not know if the doctors have that experience. you will have to do the foot work. Good luck

Hello, I am also in Sacramento and I went to a psychologist out in Roseville before I ever went to meet with my surgeon. After I started the process with my surgeon, I found out there was someone on staff that they could do the evaluation there. I would suggest checking with your surgeon to find out if they have someone in house. I actually wish I had, because she would have been more in tune with the psychological implications of WLS. The woman I went to definitely didn't. Good luck, ~Sisa
