Thanks for the two *****plied from surgery in Fresno, Dr. Higa.  If anyone else experienced surgery there, I'd love to hear about it.  Can't get enough details.  You all are AWSOME.  I love reading your posts.  Thanks for a great site, this will be enormously helpful.  Fern

Dr Higa was on TV yesterday on MedWatch here locally. He was talking about obesity and the WLS. He's a nice man. I had a different doctor years ago.

Many thanks for the reply.  May I ask you how long it took insurance to approve?  Did you have BC?  After approval, how long to get surgery date?  How many trips to Fresno?  Wow, you're only a few  weeks out of surgery.  How did it go?  How do you feel?  Fern

Hi Fern, I had Dr Higa for a revison. He added a lap band to my RNY. My husband had RNY with Higa on Jan 11 and we are trying to get my 16 year old daughter approved for RNY. Dr Higa is a world renoun surgeon. He is the very best in my eyes and I know lots of people that have had wls with him. You are in the best of hands. He ia known also to get quick approvals. I had been trying to get revision approval with another Dr for about 10 months. With Dr Higa it took one week for approval. Freson Heart Hospital is totally awesome. I have made lots of trips to Fresno from Modesto and it is well worth it.

I'm new to the site. Dr. Higa will be doing my surgery on 4/15/08 in Fresno. I can't wait and it all happened faster than I thought it would. I first met him in mid Nov and had to do all the test before it was sent to the ins. It was sent in early Feb and they called with my date the end of Feb. Dr. Higa seemed really to care about me and my family. Both my parents had WLS and are doing very well. I can't wait for 4/15.
