Clovis Community Medical Center

I was wondering how much time there was after your first meeting with a Dr. before your actual surgery if you were with the Clovis Community Medical Center? I was told you meet the Dr, and get your date that same day, so then how long after that meeting is the date usually? And did you need to do the "six months"?

I had my surgery at Clovis Community Hospital. My Dr. was Dr. Higa from the date of my consult it took 2 months to complete all the required testing then my papers were sent to the insurance for approval that took 3 weeks after I was approved My surgery date was given to me and that was 2 months later. So it took almost 5 months to have surgery from the date of my first consult. I hopes this helps. Alice

Hi there, For me, I had consult with Dr. Boone. From there it took about 2 months to complete everythign I needed to do. They submitted to insurance and I had approval in 4 days. Once the approval came through we scheduled. My surgery was scheduled 8 weeks out. I think part of that was because Dr. Boone only does surgeries at Clovis on Monday's or something like that. My surgeon was Dr. Boone as well. I had my consult with him in early Feb. I was lucky enough to see the nutritionist and pyschologist on the same day as my consult. It took about 3 weeks total to get all my results together to submit to the insurance. Once they submitted me for approval that came in an amazing day and a half. Surgery was a scheduled about 6 weeks out. I was in the hospital 24 hours. Just had my one year follow-up with Dr. Boone and everything is going great. Most astonishing to me, my cholesterol went from 210-220 before surgery to now being 132~OMG. Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you to Dr. Boone.
