Stalled already?
Hey, Rocky! It's Sheryl -- we had our surgery the same day and I roomed across the hall from you!!
I was having the EXACT SAME problem until TWO days ago. You want to know what the difference is? The carbs. If you notice, the chart we have for the first two stages are mostly what? -- carbs! We had to get all our protein from yogurt, puddings, cream of wheat, beans, etc. I had the SAME EXACT PROBLEM, and it was driving me CRAZY! I was getting SO discouraged. I've been stuck between 258 and 260 for the last two weeks no matter what I did -- sometimes gaining 1/2 a pound, sometimes losing 1/2 a pound.
BUT, on Saturday I was able to start Stage 3. It just so happened that my daughter's birthday BBQ fell on the same day, and I had my first piece of chicken! I finally didn't have to have any yogurt or any pudding anymore, so I hardly ate any carbs at ALL since Friday. Good grief, I'm so tired of that stuff . . .
Anyway, here's the good news -- from Saturday to Sunday, I dropped TWO pounds! I went from 260 to 258 on Sunday morning. Encouraged, I followed the same pattern yesterday -- and I went from 258 to 257 this morning! That's when I realized that my body was holding steady because of all the CARBS we have had to get the protein from, over the last three weeks! Once my body started getting REAL food and protein sources low in carbs, it start letting the weight go!
When do you start Stage 3? Dr. Yadegar told me 10 days for each stage instead of 2 weeks like the chart said. So 2/25 to 3/5 was the first stage, 3/5 to 3/14 was the 2nd stage, and 3/15 (Saturday) started Stage 3. Unless he directed you differently, you should be about the same. Increase your protein & cut out as many carbs as you can (and really that should be the way you're eating anyway since protein is first). The whole issue is all the carbs we've had to pull the protein from in the first two weeks.
Write back and let me know!!
