Trust me it does get better and I remember when I had my surgery that it took about 6 to somewhere around 8 weeks before I really hit my stride and started to feel human again. Just do the best you can because all of this will pass! Good luck! BounceAnd you are doing FANTASTIC...congrats on such a significant WL! Bounce

You are doing great on your water, but how are you doing on your protien?

Remember you are only 3 weeks out. You had surgery, your body is going to take some time to heal, This is get better.

It sounds like your sugar was droping also. Do you have a problem with that?

Hi Carla, Don't forget you had major surgery. When I went back to work, I went back part time at first and I had a desk job. Lu is right about the protein and I could always tell when my blood sugar was getting low and needed to eat a little something. I wouldn't get hungry but I "felt funny" and knew that it was time for something to eat. Hang in there, it does get better/easier. Sue

It's called MAJOR SURGERY.  It takes month for your body to rid itself of all the meds you were given when they put you to sleep, it takes time for your body to heal.  At this time, you need to listen to your body and do what it says, not what you think you can do.   So stop walking right now if you are tired, you can do more harm than good to your body by working too hard.  I also remember having trouble sleeping, because it was still hard to turn over and I was just not comfortable.  I just think you need to give yourself a little more time, but trust me, when you get off some more of that weight, you will have more energy than you will know what to do with.  It's driving me crazy to have to sit and do nothing till my knee heals, but I am not chancing anything happening to me other than good things, so I am listening to what my knee tells me I could do and don't pu**** Good luck

You're doing fine. I believe it was a good 6 months before I started to feel really good again. At 3-4 months I still had no spring in my step as DH put it. By 6 months I was feeling really great.  I know Dr. Boone and Dr. Higa don't like protein shakes or bars but I was a protein shake drinker before surgery and still am. I just saw Dr. Boone this past tuesday for my one year follow-up and all my labs were good and he was very pleased with my progress. He said their patients on average at one year out have lost 70% of their excess weight and I've lost 76%. FYI~he said their patients at 8 years out have kept off 70% of their excess weight.  You're doing great it just gets better and better. You know when you go to the dr they have that little questionaire to fill out and if you have any questions well on tuesday I had no questions just thank-you, thank-you, thank-you to Dr. Boone for changing my life!

It's A Good Life!
