4 weeks post op!

I have been stuck at 202 for a week now.  I didn't realize I would have a stall so early out.  I do however believe it is from not eating enough calories.  Yesterday I sat myself up on a schedule to make sure I eat at certain times.  It really helps now that I am back to work because I stay away from being bored and the possibility of eating when I am not hungry.  My new schedule...which worked GREAT for me yesterday is:  6:30am Hot Tea, 7:00 eat breakfast, 10:30am Snack (at work) 2:00 Lunch, 5:30 or 6pm Dinner and I usually end up with a Sugar Free Popcicle at 9:00 if I feel I need it.  So, I have put the scale away until next tuesday!   I have however lost 25 lbs since surgery and 30 total in 6 weeks.  Cheri

Good for you putting the scale away! I found it to only make me crazy. I also find having a schedule helps tremendously. I find during the work week, I do good because I plan my breakfast, lunch and snack. The weekends, I get busy and find I don't do as well. You'll get the hang of it. Keep up the great work. Sue

Cheri, I had my first stall at about 4 weeks out, too.  It freaked me out because nobody prepared me for it and I was so worried that I was doing something wrong!  Even now I still worry that I'm not doing things right but I try hard not to compare myself to others because everybody looses weight differently.  Personally, I think you're doing a wonderful job and keep up the good work!

A week isn't really so bad (try a month!) You're going to experience so many changes during this time, not just physically but mentally too.  There is no way that your body can remain at the same weight, it's just not possbile....you have been altered from the inside.  Your body will do it's thing in it's own time.

The battle between you and your scale could be a tough one, I know it still is for me. Taking a break from weighing yourself is a good thing if you can actually do it.  Take your scale and put it out of sight or even in the trunk of your car like somone suggested to me.  Keeping busy is a good thing too, especially if you're motivated to eat out of boredom.

Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."

Way to go..........I am happy you have found a schedule that works for you.....I guess after the liquids it will slow down in loss.   I am down 51 lbs total, and 8 since surgery (1 week).  I drink hot tea, broth, SF pop sickles, and have tried SF pudding (runny), but I am now craving food.  I have to be on a clear liquid diet for 2 weeks, and I can not wait for mashed potato's, mashed avocado, mashed veggies, mashed beans......I would think that this is the worst stage of the whole process.......My girls are going to have egg salad........I can't wait until I have mashed eggs..........OK. OK..........I am walking good, but very board..........It is so hard to keep your mind off of food.   Take care, Annabelle

Cheri, you're doing a great job. That scale will drive you crazy. Just remember, protein, water, and vitamins. You know what you need to do. The weight will come off. Sometimes not as fast as we like it to ....but it will :) Great job!
