Yesterday Dad was so depressed in the hospital that the doctor and my mom were kind of alarmed.... so... the doc has discharged him to go HOME today.... I am happy about this to a point... I don't know if my mom is really up to taking care of Dad this way, still with the IV feeding and meds, but, the nurses will be making home visits, and, I know Dad will feel better at least being back home...back in his comfy chair... So... I am cautiously optimistic about this.... I will keep you posted, and I thank you soooo much for your prayers, and kinds thoughts, and support..... Lori, Don (dad) and family....

Oh Lori I am so sorry to hear that you dad is so down - but I feel sure that once he is home in his own familiar surroundings he will feel so much better.  Just be sure to utilize home health nurses as much as you can and don't let your mom get to stressed and run down being the care giver - I know from personal experience (my dad taking care of my mom) that the caregiver role is very hard.  Use all the resources available... You have my number if you ever need to talk, vent or whatever...I am here for you ... hope to see you sat my friend. Love ya and sending you lots and lots of hugs and prayers

Hi Lori - I've been following your "dad" posts and praying for him and you and your fam for a while now... I hope this going back home will be a more comfortable, restful time for you father and that your mom does as well as she possibly can caring for him! Hang in there and don't give up hope - hope's an odd thing though... sometimes the things we hope for are different than what is best - so my hope for you and yours is peace as you walk through this time. I hope he does wonderfully at home!  It is scary when people are discharged while still needing a lot of care, but those home health nurses are wonderful!  I'm praying for him!
