This one's for the girls
Hey girls,
I'm sure we've all dealt with returning periods now that we're down a few LBs. I started getting my period regularly in September 07, 2 months after my surgery. I have always hated it, but recognize that it's a necessary evil. I am on the Nuva Ring, and LOVE it. I've noticed, however, that every other month, my period is light ... the alternating months, it is heavy. When it's light, there's no cramping or discomfort... and quite the opposite when it's heavy. Also, I've noticed that there is less time between cycles.
Anyone on the Ring? Or anyone experienced similar? Anything would be helpful.
Of course, if things persist (it's only been 3 -4 months) I'll see my doc. Just soliciting response from the learned masses.
Much Obliged,
I'm sorry you're having trouble with this, and I don't have any advice other than to keep on some kind of BC because early pregnancies are pretty common with postops, even sometimes those who are one one kind of BC or another. Maybe you could try one of those seasonal pills that give you a period only like 4x/year??? Good luck!

I've had problems with taking pills as BC even before I couldn't absorb them in pill form. Headaches, nausea, discomfort, anxiety, mood swings.... pills were bad for me (and my hubby at the time). I'm absolutely sticking with a BC, since i'm a dating fool. Thanks for the input! I'll talk to my surgeon about it when i see him for my 9 month next month.
I got PG on the ring so I use an IUD. It has worked great for me, and I really haven't had a period since I got it.
