Do any of you use Entourage for your email? if so, what advantages does it have over the mac mail ? Does it ask about the Keychain? I've screwed up my keychain and don't want to have to format the computer..... Thanks in advance

I do, but no real advantage over Mac Mail except tying into Microsoft's Exchange severs for corporate email and calender access.

However, your issues sounds like Keychain corruption. Try  Keychain First Aid first.

To use Keychain First Aid:

Open Keychain Access located in Applications/Utilities, then choose Keychain Access > Keychain First Aid.

Enter your user name and password.

Select, Verify and click Start. Any problems found will be displayed.

If there are problems, select Repair and then click Start. To change the Keychain First Aid settings, choose Keychain Access > Preferences, then click First Aid. ---------- With Keychain First Aid, you can: Verify and repair keychain settings and permissions Reset a keychain (delete a keychain reference while preserving the keychain file) Make the login keychain password the same as the login password Set the login keychain as the default keychain Set the login keychain to always remain unlocked

I'm sorry you are still having issues with Keychain. You haven't been very specific about what they might be, but having said that, reformatting your whole drive seems far too drastic for what may be needed here. I should think resetting your  Keychain and starting anew should solve your issue. Additionally, there was there was update to Keychain last fall which should have been included by now with your regular updates but here is the link. http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/loginkeychainupdate10.html Resetting your Keychain: If Keychain First Aid finds an issue that it cannot repair, or if you do not know your keychain password, you may need to reset your keychain. (Resetting a keychain sets aside the original default keychain file and creates a new one.) Products affected Mac OS X 10.3, 10.4, 10.5 or later Solution To reset your keychain in Mac OS X 10.4, or Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, or later: Open Keychain Access, which is in the Utilities folder within the Applications folder.
From the Keychain Access menu, choose Preferences.
Click Reset My Keychain, which is under the General pane.
Authenticate with your account login password.
Quit Keychain Access.
Restart your computer. ------------- Deleting your old keychain is done thusly, assuming you are using Leopard. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.5/en/9078.html
------------- Below is a solution that has worked for some and requires logging in as root. A little riskier but should be fine if you log back out out of root after trying the repair. http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20051208112922312 ------------- Worth a shot. Rockne

I play grammy at home....I played yesterday. Grand daughter stayed Friday night with me, yesterday was her mama's birthday so there was one lucky 4 year old that made a cake and frosted it all by herself and grammy only helped when asked. The pictures are adorable......let me know if you want me to send to you... No, just like all the other job stuff, quiet.....I keep looking in the mail box everyday for something, but nothing. I may be starting a part time job this next week in Fresno....I'll know more tomorrow....but was really hoping to get further south...where it is warm....:) Thanks for asking.....
