OT: Dad news

I hate to bore you all with this.... kind of the same ol' same ol', but I know several of you are out there praying, and wondering how he is doing, so! Here we go... I spent a couple of hours up at the hospital yesterday...we went for a walk of the halls... I helped him to the bathroom, and such...took him some flowers that a former student gave me to give to him! (sweet!) I told him again about all of the prayers being said for his recovery, and he asked me to pass on his appreciation...  The wound in his belly seems to be getting better, based on the decreasing amount of output in the colostomy bag. Our appeal to the insurance group is still out there.....haven't heard anything yet, so he stays put until they give him the official boot to a nursing home... we are PRAYING that he gets to stay right where he is until he gets to go home... he doesn't need an ambulance ride to a new facility to get used to for the remaining time of his care (in our humble opinion!).... thanks so much for your love and support.... Never think that you are boring us!  We want to know what's going on with Dad! I'm so glad that he's doing better, and that's so sweet that your former student brought flowers for him!  Sounds like both you and he are very appreciated people! I think that appeal was the best thing the case manager could have suggested; it's awesome that it's bought this extra time!  Hopefully it will be approved, and even if it isn't maybe he'll be well enough to go home by the time the process is over.   Let us know of any updates!

Hey Lori, I keep forgetting to tell you that the website you told us about with the online coupon codes is awesome!  I've used it for both Lane Bryant and Epson!  I used to avoid shopping online for things I could buy locally to avoid the shipping and handling, but now that I have all these discounts at my disposal, it's cheaper to buy online!  Cool!  Thanks again!

me too, Chris!! Today he was moved to a double-occupancy room, which I am taking as a hopeful sign that maybe that's the insurance company's way of saving money instead of moving him...maybe it's a compromise... I am hoping and praying for that! thank you for your prayers... God is soooo Good... even in these "end of life" issues.... xoxo Lori

Hey Lori - It has been a while since I have been on the board.  I am so sorry to hear your dad is not doing well.  I am going to catch up on the story, but know we will be praying for him too.  Lots of love and support to you and yours!
