how long do we have to wait after surgery before having a glass of wine?  Other than "empty calories" are theredire reasons not to? I'm nearly three weeks post surgery and there's an old vine zinfandel calling to me!

I'm giving myself one year. I've read at six months. With my addiction to Starbucks decaf skinny lattes I'm afraid what I would do after tasting a delicious zin.

Most doctors suggest waiting between 6 months to a year before having any alcohol.

I waited a long time I think it was close to a year your tummy is like a new born baby. I think I would check with my doctor, Before I drank any thing like that. I when I was a newby I just though of my tummy at a new born and thought would I give that to a baby, that is how I decided, then if I was still unsure I would just ask my  doctor. Like soda some doctors say it ok some say no, I waited until I was 6 months out it was all I had to drink to take a pill and it had been in the car for 2 days so I thought it would be flat enough boy was that a mistake. Did not touch it again for like a year and now at 4 years out I only drink it every once in the while. It is basicly out of my life. Hope this helps. Big hugs, Celest

They have been out of town for 4 days and I'm missing that baby!  She is the sweetest thing.  Please tell me when you are up this way!  You have to hold this baby!

I am all about a good glass of wine, but I highly suggest you give your pouch a good 6 months to heal. It's so important.  Trust me.  Listen to your surgeon.

I waited until 6 months out.  Do what your docs says and listen to your body!
