Checking in, 65 lbs. slimmer!

Wow I haven't posted on this board in months. I just wanted to let everyone know I'm doing ok. I met a lot of LA area people right after I had my surgery last year at the Long Beach Coffee gatherings. That was a positive thing, even though I haven't been back. Really, just to see regular everyday people living after the surgery was cool. Also I went to the picnic in the park- forgot the name of it. That was fun too.
So even though I haven't remained active on this board or in touch with the many kind people who gave me support, I keep you all in my heart always.
I am still struggling with eating issues. Like my surgeon said, they wouldn't go away. However, realizing I am close to being under 200 lbs. has given ame a renewed sense or urgency. I don't want to be an unhealthy slim person!! So, I'm going to try and get back to the Long Beach coffee or some other support groups, continue to go to Curves (even though it's corny) and follow the doggone diet the nutritionist gave me!!! No more, "well let me just chew these nachos slowly and in tiny bites, perhaps they will go down ok".
Oh and thanks to all of you who were supportive in my initial battle with Blue Cross and confusion when I found out I was going to lose my job one month before surgery was scheduled!! Blue Cross got their act together, and though I'm still not working full time, I have been able to hold it together by subsitute teaching, tutoring, consulting, etc. Somehow, the COBRA gets paid, along with rent, etc.
I will post some pics soon, I need to update my profile. Probably on the 1 year "bandiversary".
Bye!!!
