Hernias are at it again!!! graphic pictures included
So, I've had more hernia drama to catch you up on. I forgot to tell Sally to post for you guys, sorry, so here it is for you...
It started with a small hernia attack on Sunday, but I was able to sleep that one off. Then on Tuesday night at my Cookie Lee meeting it started hurting and by Wednesday morning I told Mike to take me to the ER. He dropped me off there and I really thought they would keep me, but nope! Another catscan (with contrast this time) showed still no blockage or strangulation. So they sent me home after being there all day and I had an appointment the next morning with Zorn. He said that him and Dr. Meyer had been playing phone tag but hadn't connected yet. Still would have been nice to call and tell me that~duh!!!
Anyway, he paged Dr. Meyer while I was there and got him to call right back (thank you God!!). I have to have another MRA on my neck clot to see the status (I was hoping they would) and if it looks good, Meyer will take me off the Coumadin permanently. In the meantime Zorn is putting the authorization in for my hernia repair.
My MRA is this Tuesday and hopefully my hernia attacks will hold until March 17 because Mike and I start vacation March 9 and it can't be rescheduled. I am not spending my vacation in a hospital. We have changed our plans and now will just be staying in a local hotel and chillaxing in case something happens!!! sucks!
If you want all the details, it is blogged on my profile, but this is it in a nutshell. Today is really my first day of mostly no pain. Still a little tender when I cough or sneeze or move too fast, but hopefully no more attacks. The pain was horrible this time!!! I can't keep dealing with this and this surgery really scares me. I really wanted to do my TT at the same time, but that won't happen. I just don't want to do any more hernia repairs. This will be the 3rd and hopefully the last!
I could really use your prayers for this to all fall in place ok, for the surgery itself, and for our financial strain stress to quit taking over my life. We can't afford this vacation and we are starting to feel guilty about taking it, but damn it, we saved for it and my hubby works 365 days a year and hasn't taken time off in 8 years. He needs a rest!!!! We have to do this, bills or no bills!!! I guess I just need some cyber hugs from my Cali girls!!!

Geez Becky...that is just downright awful!!! I do hope that whatever the outcome is that right now and for a while you are pain free until you have your surgery.....just terrible!!! ((((((((((((((((((((Becky))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Those are crazy!! Wow... I'm so excited for you to get them taken off so you can really enjoy your weight loss...

OMG I am so sorry you are having to go through all of this - its just not fair that such a caring wonderful gal like yourself has to have so much. I am so sorry you have had to change your plans, I will miss not meeting up for lunch, but I think it is the best idea to be close to your Drs.
I was just wondering why the Dr wants you off coumadin permanently if you have a clot in your neck? Interesting to me since I am on coumadin and have been for years.

Hey kiddo...I'll keep you in prayer for these biyatches (lol) to simmer down and let you and Mike enjoy some well deserved alone time on your vacation. Also that this all gets taken care of before your cruise!!! I'll come and see you in the hosp when that happens, ok?
