I love my Bassett!  Max is the first Bassett I have had and I think I am hooked! LOL  Chris is already watching the "pound" websites to see if we can find another for him to hang out with.  We got Max from the pound, so we have no "papers", but he is a purebred, which is also a first for me. He is a GREAT dog, so much fun! Here is a picture. =) Shells

He looks quite a bit like our Buddy, in fact it is eery.  What pound did you get him from?  How long have you had him?  We gave Buddy up about six - nine months ago.  There is a basset hound rescue site that fosters them until homes can be found.  Go online and do some searching.  They are silly creatures! xo xo xo

We got him from the Humane Society in San Gabriel, about a block from our house, we have had him I think a month? Apparently he was living with an older couple and she had arthritis in her hands and could no longer care for him (she brought his leash and blankets and vet papers and apparently was very upset when she dropped him off)....he had been there all of 4 hours when we got him, a truly harrowing experience to be sure...LOL.

Chris has her heart set on getting a girl Bassett so he has a "girlfriend" (her words!) and we would like to have them fairly close in age (he is only 16 months) so we are just keeping our eyes open and if the right pup comes along, we will snatch it up! lol. She has been scouring the internet checking out pounds and rescues.

Silly creature is right!! He does some of the funniest things I have ever seen a dog do! LOL

Oh Shells, we just love Kandy! Sometimes she gets to be a little much but we know it is only temporary. Our biggest hurdle right now is the digging of holes and "puppy nips" Doggy school was wonderful, now if I only had a little more time to work with her. Thanks again for helping make our family complete! Sue

Good morning Janine!! Well Cali...it's hard for me to believe there is only ONE day left in Shelluary and I'll have to wait another 11 months before I can celebrate the month that I was born.  At least thanks to leap year I do have that one more day!! I'm still trying to figure out how I can go to K&K's carb dinner and still get what I need to do to have my "final" birthday party of 2008.  Yup I'll still be celebrating me on Saturday...this year is what I call STRETCHING the party...but hey it's all about ME right now so induldge. I am so happy to have lost my birthday week gain and am still losing.  It was a shocker, but delicious none-the-less. Here's to a GREAT week.   Ms Shell

Good morning Janine!  This is the first morning that I woke up and decided that I was going to try to get through the day without thinking of him and the sad and happy stuff.  I walked Muttley at 5:00 in the morning and it felt very good to do that.  I am going to put it into a routine if it makes me feel this good. My home computer is going to get fixed tonight so I am very excited about that.  It needs some card to connect to the internet and the one I have is broken or too old, or something or other. That's all.  Saw my shrink yesterday and I love her.  She is great.  I highly reccommend a therapist for everyone, if you can find the right one. xo xo xo Hugs
