Mood Swings and Crying Jags

How many WLS post-op patients have experienced unexpected bouts of crying jags (spilling tears for no apparent reason) or times when you had mood swings that went from high to low without control? I found out about it with ODT -- On the Diet Training.  As I got into the swing of ketosis (fat burn with your deep fat as the generator), I learned from a nurse that hormones are stored in the fat cells, so the more fat you burned, the more crazy hormones you will have to deal with.   Just wanted to let you know one of the side effects of WLS and rapid weight loss.  Be careful out there and continue to burn away the fat!

I will admit that lately I have been a wreck. It realy is the worst time to be breaking down as I am fighting to get my TT approved and get ready for our move to Georgia in April. My husband is going through his finals right now so our house is crazy and grumpy central.  I never thought to equate it to my weight loss. But since I reached goal last month do you think it could still be WLS related?

Sure. The hormones have been released into your body chemistry, so it could be a combination of that, plus the stress of finals (whether you are taking them or not) and the stress of your upcoming move.  Just ri=de it out and you'll be fine. By the way, congratulation on hitting your WLS.  Give yourself a pat on your back.
