What are you thankful for??
Good Monday Morning!!! I set this post up as an anti-gripe of the day post on Fridays so that we can start the week off on the right foot and remember all that we are thankful for. Could be anything at all! So, share or not- if you choose not to publicly, then remember to take a minute out of your day to be thankful for at least ONE thing. Everyone should have at least ONE thing!!!
Mine:
1. My hubby, forever and always~ he is one of my biggest fans and even though we haven't been able to talk too much the last 2 weeks because he has been busy, with the quick conversations, he is always telling me what a great wife, mother and friend that I am and just always knows what to say to make me feel better about the whole situation. I love you baby....more than anything else on this planet.
2. Lynnie for my morning texts and always checking up on me throughout the day to see how I am doing. Low you...
3. Keeping that 9 lbs off that I lost with the 5 day pouch test. I would still like to drop another 10- but, if it isnt meant to be, I am okay with that. My clothes are still fitting fine. Some are quite loose!
4. For everyone here that is always supportive to me during Mike's deployment and I thank you all again for answering to my post the other day when I hadn't heard from Mike. That was a yucky morning, but knowing that you guys were all sending out positive vibes, made me feel so much better.
Okay, need to get my kiddos up and ready for school. Have a WONDERFUL Monday California!!!

Hi Vicki
What I am the most thankful for this morning is that I finally made it to the century mark - yep - down 100.6 lbs since surgery on 8/20.
I am also so thankful for all of the great people I have met here on the boards and for all of the support and encouragement everyone offers.
I thank god every day that I have been given this tool and this chance at a new life.
Have a great day and I hope your PT is not to painful.
Ok.k. This is a weird one for me folks. I believe in God and the good works he does and that everything is done with His timing. That being said, I have n vere been a "churchy person" I go occasionally just to keep my best friend Becky, who is the BEST, happy. Well, I went on a women's retreat this weekend, and I can't tell you how uplifting it was and how much it helped me with my current situation (being dropped like a hot potato by Jeff, with no notice, no nothing, just I don't love you anymore and I don't want to be with you. I don't think I ever loved you. This after even planning our retirement and future together. There is much more to it than this, but no book this morning)
Anyway, this retreat was so absolutley wonderful for me, to know that people do really care, strangers really. The good feelings and wonderful vibes they gave me. I cannot tell you how wonderful it was and I am pretty sure it has converted me to become a regular church goer. My boys already go to youth group ( well, honestly, the oldest one only goes because there are cute girls there, but the youngest goes for the right reasons).
I am also thankful for Celest. Poor girl, she kept trying and trying to call me after a dropped a bomb on her. There was no phone service so I was unable to talk to her until way later and I think I had her worried to death.
I am thankful that my Bobby has now been clean and sober for ten days now. I am so proud of him. I so wish he wasn't in Oregon. Why do all my friends have to live so far away?
I am thankful that my friend Farell has found a little bit of peace going through his divorce. It is a nasty one, one that rivals the celebrities. I went to school with both he and his ex to be. We have all been friends since 2nd grade and we are all 43 now! It is very rough on he and Kathleen and their 11 year old.
I am thankful for my kiddos. Dusty was in a car wreck last week. No one was hurt and it wasn't his fault. Someone turned a uturn right in front of him and SMASH!! The highway Patrol officer who came to thescene told me I should be very proud of Dusty because he was one of the most respectful kids he had ever dealt with. WOW!! how cool is that.
O.K. This is also part of my therapy from the psychologist, to write good things so this killed two birds with one stone (sorry birdies, just a saying)
Have a wonderful day to all of you. I am sorry I haven't been around on a steady basis, but I am trying to change that.

I think this is a wonderful idea! Sometimes we need to be reminded of all of the good things in our lives. For me:
1. Wonderful, loving children.
2. Friends that I've kept for many years even if they all live far away.
3. My surgery! Not only have I lost weight but I actually work out on a semi-regular basis which helps keep my heart pumping strong.
4. The Cali group - I can always come here for support, chuckles & information. Thank you all!

I'm thankful I had the RNY surgery when I did. I was 59, and my mother developed diabetes at 55. I weighed 345 prior to starting the surgery venture, and weigh 204 today, having surgery on May 10, 2006. In the past several months, I've had some fainting issues. Through the efforts of my gp, and a referral to a cardio doctor, we found the problem. I've always had a slow pulse, and recent tests at the doctors office regitered pulse rates of 38 and 45. I had a consult with the cardiologist on 2-8-08, and had a pacemaker implant surgery on 2-12. Check up on 2-19 showed pacemaker is working great. I'm thankful again for having the surgery when I did, as I may have been in a lot worse shape at 345 with heart issues. "Knock on wood", I should be good for another 7-10 years and that's when I'll probably need a pacemaker replacement. The batteries last about that long, but they replace the whole pacemaker unit, as the batteries are sealed inside.
