Calorie's - almost 2 weeks out.
Hi everyone,
I was wondering?...at 2 weeks out...should I be counting calories and protein and all that? I have been eating very little...2-4 tablespoons every 3 hours...I hadn't lost weight in 4 days....then yesterday I up'd the amount of intake a bit and lost weight this morning. Could it be that I am not eating enough? I know your body goes into some sort of shut down and holds on to fat when you starve yourself...does this still happen to Bypass patients???
Thanks for your input.
Cheri

Hi Cheri,
I think your best bet would be to contact your surgeon and follow his protical. I was only allowed to eat three times a day and one of those meals was my protein shake. Some surgeons allow their patients more meals. Didn't you get nutritional directions?

Our surgeon does not believe in protien shakes...he said 2-4 Tablespoons of food at a time. But now that I am almost 2 weeks out...that should be going up. I have not disobyed his orders. I was doing 2-3 T of food and up'd it to 4 T yesterday...and then noticed a drop in weight today. I think next week I start on 1/4 c food.
