Hey Everyone! I got home around 2 pm yesterday.  Spent 2 nights in hospital.  Everything went very well.  The only thing that kinda bummed me out is that all the staff said I didnt need the surgery, that I wasnt fat...some thought they had the wrong patient and was looking for a "fatter" patient!!  After a few run in like this...my husband started answering them back...that I did this to relieve myself of my co morbidities...my diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol. And Im down 10 pounds since I went in the hospital!!! YEA!!!  AND I havent SMOKED since I went in the hospital.  I hope I can continue being a non smoker!!!!  YEA!!

Congratulations.  I wish you a speedy recovery.  My sister went in on the 21st and she should be home tonight.  Good Luck and I wish you success on being a new non-smoker.

Congratulations!  I hope you have a speedy recovery.  It is too bad that people felt the need to comment on whether they felt you needed the surgery or not.  Some folks think they know everything.  You and your doctor knew what you needed.

Welcome home and congratulations!!!  Guess what???  I had the same thing happen to me!!!  After the 5th nurse said something like that...I was pissed.  They obviously did not know I was 115 lbs overweight...and that I had a ton of co-morbities!  Some people have such nerves.  I would NEVER dream of doing that to someone!  Especially someone that just went thru the surgery! Some people can be so empty headed! Whatever, you know that you did what you had to do to be happy and healthy and that is all that matters!!!

That said, welcome home and congratulations!

I wish you the best of luck with continuing not to smoke, it has been a little over a year since I quit and it was one of the best things I did for myself!

Cheryl, Congratulations and welcome home!  Also a Big Big KUDOS to you for not Smoking!!!!   I smoked for over 25 years and I swear it was the hardest thing I ever did was to quit.  It will be 3 years in August.   But the best decision I ever made!  If you have gone this long you have made it through.you can do it!   I used to go on whyquit.com when ever I would get a craving.  Just remember the cravings do not last that long either.  They will pass! Also - just think of all the extra money you will have to buy the cute clothes!!! I'm proud of you! Jeni

Congrats on making it to the losing side gf!!! I am really happy and excited for you!!!! More over, I am super excite that you quit smoking. Like Jen said the cravings only last really about 10 secs....I know the longest 10 seconds, but I have been smoke free for years and you could not pay me to go back!! Best to you with your recovery and your continued good healthy ways! Bounce
