Gripe of the Day post!!
Optimists are right. So are pessimists. It's up to you to choose which you will be.~~Harvey Mackay
Kids who think it’s cool to write the “N” word….three feet long….on the table where my son sits for lunch everyday.
Parents who claim that “My kid would never do anything like that”
School personnel who promise that the “graffiti” would be removed immediately, only to still be there this morning.
The fact that this is only one of many instances of racism in the last year….and NOTHING is being done about it.
Ok…that’s it for me today….all the other gripes in my life seem minor in comparison.
I'M IN TRAINING AND YOUR HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! http://apla.convio.net/site/TR/Events/NationalAIDSMarathonTrainingProgram-MARATHONONLY?px=1351601&pg=personal&fr_id=1050
Gosh Kirsten...I am so sorry your son is having to go through that. Kids can be so darn mean...and isn't it funny when parents insist that "their" child would never act or do anything like that. I went through something a bit similar a couple of years ago with my daughter and it SUCKED!!! Even the principal wouldn't handle things. I hope this passes soon for your son and for you too...I know it si so hard on us, I think even a bit more than the kids. Hang in there!
Kirstin YOUR PROBLEM IS MORE THEN A GRIPE! IT IS A TERRIBLE TRAGEDY THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. I am so sorry that parents and school admisnistrators can't do their jobs. I am still in shock everytime I see or hear of racism in this day and age. I can't believe it still exsists. This has to be hard on you and extremly stressful for your son also. (((((((((((GINORMOUS HUGS KIRSTIN)))))))))))) I WISH I COULD HELP YOU WITH IT. YOU LIVE IN A VERY NICE CITY AND YOU WOULD THINK THAT THE SCHOOLS AND PARENTS WOULD WANT TO KEEP THAT KIND OF TRASH OUT OF THEIR SCHOOLS AND NEIGHBORHOODS. CALL THE SCHOOL DISTRICT AND COMPLAIN! ALL OF OUR GRIPES ARE INDEED MINOR IN COMPARISON TO THIS. TAKE CARE AND TRY AND HAVE A WONDERFUL FRIDAY AND AN AWESOME WEEKEND.
