Annabelle, I am so happy and excited for you. Despite your 2 year wait you have always been so positive and I love to hear about your journey thus far. It's totally natural to be nervous and scared but you will see you being nervous and scared for nothing once you are all done. I wish you the best as you deserve this. Hugs to you, Jaime

Jaime, thank you for your encouragement.  I am just worried about my blood sugar getting too low before surgery.  I am so excited about my day, and am thankful for this web site and the wonderful people who I have met along the way who have given their support.    Thank you Jaime, Annabelle

Annabelle-Before you know it the 2 weeks will be up and you will be a whole new person with so much to experience.  You will have more energy to keep up with your kids and a whole new outlook on life.  The two day diet will not be that big of a deal and the hunger is more or less just head hunger.  You will be just fine,  Sharon

You're gonna do great Annabelle! I found the following information -  Patients requiring clear or full liquid diets should receive ~200 g of carbohydrate per day in equally divided amounts, at meal and snack times. Liquids should not be sugar-free. Patients require carbohydrate and calories, and sugar-free liquids do not meet these nutritional needs. Diabetes medications may need to be adjusted to achieve and maintain metabolic control.  on this website -  http://care.diabetesjournals.org/cgi/content/full/27/suppl_1 /s55 I'm not sure if it will hel*****t. A little more poking around online might help and as someone already said, Call the Dr. He should have specific information for you. I'm sure you are not his first diabetic patient. Again, good luck and your day will be here before you know it! Sue

Keep doing what you're doing, Keep getting what you're getting.

Thanks Sue, I think the answer is the dosage of medicine I take for my diabetes.  I bet on my pre-op appointment they will lower my dosage.   I can't believe I am talking about this......LOL Thanks, Annabelle
