weight loss
Heather,
What are you eating in a day? How much protein are you getting, how much water are you drinking and are you excercising? This will all help us help you. You are right...you should probably be losing more than 4lbs. a month on month 2 post op...but stalls early out do happen. Tell us what you are eating and such and maybe that will help.
Heather Lisa is right about telling us what you are eating or not eating for that matter because if you are not eating the proper intake, it could really stall you on your weight loss. Your body will go into starvation mode and hang on to everything. You think you would lose....but our bodies have that built in survival mechanism that we can do nothing about.
Like Lisa said, stalls do happen this early out, but maybe we can be of assistance if you let us know what you are eating.

Well here's the story. I did liquid diet for 3 weeks prior to my surgery and I lost 18 lbs. My sudgery date was dec.19. Since then I have lost 33 lbs. I am 2 months out as of today and I did lose 2 lbs this morning. I bought a calorie book and I decided to start journaling. Today I consumed about 900 calories. I just thought that the weight would be falling off. Am I on the right track. The protein is hard to get in but i am drinking those liquid whey proteins. I am also increasing my water. Thanks for sending me a message this is my first time and I am happy to have support. I will take all the advice that I can get. Will I really get to the end in a year?
Heather,
So actually you have lost around 15 pounds a month so far. Maybe not as much as some, but more than others! You know the average loss in the beggining months can be anywhere between 10-20 pounds...so I think you are fine. We all lose weight differntly and at different paces. One thing I have tried to do over the last year is NOT compare myself to others. I know I will NEVER be a size 6...but maybe someday an 8...and if I never get pass a 10...I am okay with that too. I started this journey at a size 26/28 one year ago and have lost 124 pounds. I too never thought I would even lose 100 pounds in a year, but I did and you will too! I don't know how much you have to lose...but people who alot more to lose tend to lose alot more in the beggining as well. Try to make sure you are getting enough protein and eating enough and the whole liquid thing. I know it is so hard the first few months, but try and it will happen. Read my profile and you will get an idea of what I went through.
I also lived by the bullets to get my protein in and they worked great. Hope this helps a little bit. If you have any other questions...just ask!
Hang in there!
