So I thought the stall had broken but it never did it finally broke on Monday morning after weeks of 1 pound up and 1 pound down it finally moved 4 pounds!! I was getting super stressed trying to cut calories down to 600 or less until my husband took away the scale and hid it. He was pretty concerned that I wasn't eating enough. I'm blaming work and stress for the stall but it's all better now still following the program excited to see Dr. Zentner and see how I've done.
Congratulations! I'm not sure about Richmond but unless you have a specialist and nutritionist as part of the program likely all appointments will be in Richmond.
So after waiting for 2 years after my Dr. Sent in my referral, I am finally going to Orientation on June 1st!!!. I'm excited and nervous and I have so many questions. Mainly I wonder if all of my appointments will have to be scheduled in Richmond because I live in Langley. I'm hoping I can get some things done here. Any advice would be great!
I'm so sorry to hear that Sam I was crossing my fingers for you to have a May or June date! im hoping Christina is just trying not to get your hopes up, im sure there are summer surgeries getting ready for booking I was pushed forward to fill a cancellation maybe this could happen for you? I know it's frustrating just keep at it, it will happen.
My patience level is waining ... I called to follow up and make sure Dr Lam got my upper GI results. When my last xray was unceremoniously cancelled, Christina gave me the impression it would have no impact on my surgery date and even said May was a possibility. I find out today that all May spots are booked and they don't know if there will be any for June or the summer. I'm so depressed and frustrated and jealous of everyone else getting through. It's been 3.5 years already. :( :(
I saw Dr Amson about 8 years ago when I firt thought of the surgery, and decided it wasn't the best at that time. they program now is MUCH different, and the support that I am seeing is making me feel as thought it was worth the wait :) I hope time flies for you!
I have used Victoza but not while I was on the liquid diet. Victoza can cause some really bad nausea and stomach cramping and you will probably be dealing with enough of that just on the shakes. The first couple of days are miserable then you get used to it. It did make me take a good hard look at how I coped with emotions through food though it led to me buying a book on emotional eating.
when I quit smoking I watched a you tube video on how to crochet and taught myself how to crochet to keep my hands busy, this works during the pre-op diet when you want to watch tv as well. I've done lots of crocheting in the last two months everyone who comes over gets some dish clothes. Lol
youre going to do great! stay with it it's important and it jump started my weight loss 16lbs gone from the shakes!
No - I've just been doing the stuff required to put in a referral to the program. My sleep test was the last thing on the list - so my doctor has sent off the referral . . . now the WAIT! Nice to hear that your wait was only 14 months - sounds like some people have waited over two years. I just wish I'd started this process a few years ago - when I first heard about the program.

today is day 1 of my pre op liquid diet, I've just had breakfast. Something tells me I won't be watching as much tv and I'll probably go to bed early ?
Has anyone used Victoza to reduce hunger and cravings?
Yes! that's a good point!! It'll be great for afterwards too, so being comfortable with "your machine will be nice.
Have you had you referral yet? or are you working on all the pre referral things still.
I asked for a referral and never heard anything about it until they called 14 months later to tell me my orientation date (which was 5 weeks away)so I honestly had NO idea I had been waiting the whole time LOL. took a little stress out of it.
