Of course I get tempted! But I am so proud of myself for not cheating.

Tonight, I went out to a nice Greek restaurant with my family for a birthday...and I didn't touch a thing...all I ordered was water. No taste of a sauce, not a nibble of this or that, nothing.

I find that at this stage though, I have really lost my appetite. The Broth is something I dread. I find the diarrhea has subsided as well.

At the end of the day, I haven't cheated and intend to complete this.

Have you been for your anesthetic consult yet?

I'm seeing Dr. Malik for the third time in late October.  I've lost 10% of my weight and been charting my food intake.  Now I'll get back into regular walks.  I have no idea how long it will take to wait for surgery.   Still need to get my two scopes done though.

Where are you in the process?  :)

I wasn't a patient of Dr. Tang's, but I did switch doctors.  I was seeing Dr. Malik (also in Victoria) and I doubt I would be having surgery yet if I hadn't switched.  I switched to Dr. Nguyen (who shares an office with Dr. Sampathy) and I saw him first in March, and now I'm having surgery Oct 31.  Good luck to you!

Well 6 days down and  8 more to go!!!!!  I definately know why Dr. Sampath doesn't require a bowel prep, you spend most of the 2 weeks doing a type of cleanse!!!!!

I did. In January I was told it would be another 3-4 years before I got my surgery so I switched to Dr. Sampath and will be having my surgery 6 months after my first appointment.  Good luck to you.

Well that is great news! As for prep, you didnt have to do a bowel cleanse? That would be so awesome.

I had RnY surgery with Tang in May, I had been waiting 3 yrs (2008). He required no preop, just told me not to eat/drink liquids after lunch the day before surgery. The appointment with Jan (nut at Jubilee) was great, she answered all my questions gave me lots of info, told me what to expect diet wise after surgery etc. I heard The doctors get an increase in surgeries, I heard 40 more a year, I think that is shared  between the three doctors on the island ,not sure on the info.

Just wondering how many of you were patients of Dr Tang but switched to another surgeon because of the waitlist? I am hoping that this is lots of you as that would make time on the waitlist shorter.
