Topic: Tomorrow is Surgery Time
Well, tomorrow is the day. I can't believe that after over two years, the time is finally here. What a trip this has been! I still don't feel too nervous (although people phoning me to tell me that they would see me "on the other side" kind of freaked me out - do they know something I don't know??).
I have to be at the hospital by 11:15 a.m. tomorrow, so think of me tomorrow afternoon - and I'll see you on the "other side"!! Lol.

Topic: RE: November Vancouver weight loss surgery support meeting
Hi All
This is what is planned for part of the evening
Hi everyone,
I wanted to invite you all to bring any samples that you would like to share of protein drinks, protein bars, or other protein snacks - store bought or homemade, to the WLS support group meeting this Thursday. We have lots of different favourites among us, and it would be fun to have the chance to try some new items without having to purchase large canisters of expensive proteins.
I realize that some people may have allergies or prefer to avoid certain foods, so we will each need to decide what items we wish to sample based on our individual needs. It would be helpful if you know whether the items you bring have dairy, nuts, or sugar alcohols
I will bring small disposable cups and some plates and napkins, along with a knife or two for cutting up protein bars. If anyone would like, email me and I can bring my mini blender too!
Don't worry if you don't have anything to bring - just come and try some new things!
Cheers,
Margo

Topic: RE: Pain in the side
Well so far I've taken 2 doses of the Tylenol/Advil and there's really not any change (I know that I'm probably just being impatient and wanting it to work miracles). I also decided that today is going to be a real lazy day of just doing a whole lot of nothing, well aside from going to pick up the monitor for the overnight oximetry test and having some bloodwork done.
Readyornot-Dr. Sampath is really one of the most caring doctors I've ever had to deal with. Not many docs would give you their cell phone number in case of problems. Definately someone that I trust with my medical care.

sure hope it goes away for you. Keep us all updated. Sure is nice to see that Dr Sampath is staying in touch and continues to take good care of you. Don't overdue things.

I am really hoping that it's just from the surgery. I took the first dose of Tylenol and Advil and now we wait to see what's gonna happen. The reason that it seemed odd to me and why I decided to email him was because this is a new pain that developed at 11days post-op and has been getting worse for the last 24-36 hours. It started as a dull "I'm gonna let ya know I'm here" kind of ache and has progressed into a "I'm here and I'm not gonna let you forget it" constant pain. We'll see what the next 24 hours with the Tylenol and Advil brings. He did also tell me that it may take a few days for the meds to fully kick in.
