Congratulations on the weight loss and skipping a few sizes, bet you look and feel fabulous!
I hear ya about being a *****eesed, I had some beautiful summer tops I was so looking forward to wearing but they`re all wayyyy to big, have to give them away. Bittersweet I suppose but I wouldn`t trade this adventure for anything either!
Keep going gurl, your doing awesome! :)
i haven't been online much recently but I am still around and doing well. I've lost so much weight that i skipped a few sizes so it's time to go shopping i guess. don't get me wrong I'm thrilled but kinda cheezed.. i was so into wanting to wear these pair of jeans I put aside. I'm just as happy to have skipped that size.
i'm coming in for a follow up next month
im also looking for info on any plastic surgeons in lower mainland area that HAVE done the various surgeries for skin removal etc.
I've heard from West Coast Bariatric that they send patients to Dr Owen Reid in Richmond (private clinic) - but i havent heard any feedback about him.
Dr Guichon - yes is Surrey so will try him out as well.
Anyone else out there who has had surgery up here in Canada?
I also have appt scheduled in Seattle with fellow who has done this for 15plus yrs, my surgeon in Seattle recommended him as he uses him all the time - so will try this route as well - especially if I have to pay it all myself.
Any info would be appreciated
Thanks
Lana

Did you get your surgery date yet? Hoping all is better for you now and that you are doing well.

Hi,
I was told by Dr.N that I should save around 10,000.00 so I can have the surgery when I am ready. I am pissed that the MSP can cover the surgery but not the excess skin removal so I wrote an e-mail to Christie Clark. I did this before I had my surgery (Mar 26/2012) and a response was sent to me. If you get a pre-authorization form (on the website) and take it to your surgeon, they can fill it out and if they feel that you require the surgery for health reasons, not vanity, MSP will cover it. So, since I have had my surgery and have lost 75 lbs now I decided to send another letter to the government to make sure that this can still happen.....here is the response that I received:
So, when it is time for me to get the surgery I will bring this letter with me along with the pre-auth forms and see what happens. I personally cannot afford to pay for the surgery. I feel it should all be a package deal, it seems logical to me that if you are losing alot of weight that there will be excess skin left to deal with. The government should be more than willing to pay for this as it is helping alot of people get healthy and therefore not relying on the medical system so much.
Fingers crossed that it can work for all of us!! Good luck :-)
WoW! That is awesome!!! That isn't much food at all.... I eat way more than that, which is probably why I am not losing weight. I generally eat something like this:
Breakfast: peanut butter and toast, or protein bar
Snack: Fruit and protein
Lunch: Lean cuisine or leftovers from night before
Snack: protein bar or yogurt
Dinner: Meat, starch and vegetable
Dinner and post dinner is where I fall down. I usually eat too much and end up snacking through the night.
My husband doesn't get it and it makes it difficult. Last night he wanted to get KFC and I had to be assertive and set my foot down. I love fast food and it is my weakness....
It is definitely easier to share online!!! haha... I started at 293 and I weigh 273 now. You are doing great!!!!!!
