Hi Carla. I had my surgery Nov 9th, 2017. I was on a waiting list for 2 years, and then it took a year on top of that for preparation tests, dietician visits, counselling, and Dr. visits
It's worth the wait!
I have no idea about the processes on the Island, I only ever was a part of the Richmond program.
Thank you for your response, it gives me hope that once I get the call all will proceed quickly (I hope). The wait leading up to the orientation call is what is going to kill me, just seems so far away. I wonder if the process is similar in Victoria as it was in Richmond for you?
I couldn't ever stomach the Optifast. I went with the Costco brand Premier Protein. Sounds like your surgery might be right around the corner and thats fantastic!
I'm just over a year out now and the weight loss has slowed. I keep going from months of losing to months of maintaining - almost there though. And they said it would slow as you get closer to goal lol
I was contacted by the Victoria clinic at the end of August, had orientation in January, approved for surgery in February. I have an upper GI and see Dr. Amson in late April. I'm hoping he will give me a date in the spot lol. I've already ordered my optifast. ????
The bariatric clinic will fax your referral back to your GP, to show when you were added to the waitlist.
