A little update!! I just got a call a few days ago with an orientation session. I attended that yesterday, and I am officially in the program.  I should be having my surgery within the next 6 months.  So excited!

Hi Everyone,

I am from Nova Scotia, wait time here is 10 years! One surgeon, my Dr. just put in the referral you are not allowed to even call the clinic to see if they have received the referral.

I wish Canada would recognize obesity as a health condition and put in place the correct resources. I am a nurse and disgusted with the lack resources.

I agree the wait list is way to long. While I wait I keep doing research and try and find ways around it, no luck so far. But I did come across a blog that I find helpful in getting ready. It is by two sisters  who entered the program in February and they write about all their different appointments and what to expect. http://evieallyswhatstheskinny.blogspot.ca/

It took me 2 weeks for my first appointment, 2 months to get accepted and 2 months after (july 23, 2015) i will be getting my surgery.  I think i got through ao quick because i did the pre-op diet as a test and bugged Carla and Dr. Zentner to see me and showed them how eager i was to get this done.  I am on the pre-op diet now and i must say it is harder the second time around but i am committed.  So my advice is to be relentless.
