LapBand

Hello -

I am a 30 yo woman from Langley who's BMI is 53. After a life of weight problems, and recent complications resulting from my weight I am ready to book in for a LapBand. Three years ago (after a two year wait may i add) I met with Dr. Amson to discuss options, but at that time the $$$ for LapBand was impossible for me and the extreme waitlist for the MSP funded surgery was laughable. However, with recent complications I am left with no choice and my family has agreed to pay for the surgery. 

I have found the following places who perform LapBand but would love to hear your comments on these places, or other places that do LapBand. 

1. False Creek Surgical

2. Surgical Weight Loss Centre

3. West Coast Bariatric

4. North West Weight Loss (US) 

5. Victoria Band Surgery (VI)

I'd love to hear if I have missed any locations (and I am not willing to go to Mexico or the like), and what I should be looking for in a surgeon/ centre. I'd like to get in as soon as possible, but making a decision is a big thing as I am sure you are all aware! 

As I begin this journey any other support groups would be greatly appreciated as well! 

Sorry, I went to Montreal and paid big bucks!!!  I'll say I would do it again in a blink!  Do your research and then try to keep it close to your home.  So in  the future, you're just a phone call away!  Just want to say good-luck and don't wait any longer.  I'd sell my ....:)
