Im having more complications from hernia repair surgery, Im swelling up more even though I have the 2nd drain in, running a fever,my stomach is hot and red and in a tremendous amount of pain. I went and seen my gp today who tried to get me into a general surgeon over here, but they said go to emerg as can't get me in fast enough. My gp said maybe they will have to put a mesh in and cleaning up the fluid pooling. Im going to emerg later today.<br />

Suzanne I am thinking about you and wishing you all the best. I hope they can quickly get this sorted out for you. That sounds awful. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Cheers

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

Has been a long day, went into emerg at 11 am because of the pain, swelling, redness and turns out I now have an infection as well. So they've sent me home with an IV in my hand, and I have to go back daily for IV antibiotics, and have to fill a prescription for oral antibiotics.

As well as Monday have to get the drain flushed.

Very tired from all of this, going to bed shortly just got up a little while ago after being in bed at 11:30

Went to emerg on Frday turned out ot be an infection in the hernia repair sight, had swelling, a fever, strong pain and they put in IV in my hand, had hand antibiotics put in two rounds on Sat and Sunday IV antibiotics, and now on oral antibiotics for a week.
Told me to check closely with my gp and also to see a surgeon here since mine is on Vacation til September.
Surgeon at the hospital said there would be too many complications to go in and clean out the infection and remove the fluid pooling. Ive sent a note to the surgeon my gp wants me to see. Time consuming and frustrating. My tube on the drain was changed Monday as it plugged and again yesteray so new tube on the drain changed working well again.

Hoping this is the end of it,

Suz

Well I have finally come to the end of the complications Im hoping.

I have had two drains in first one for a week, second drain was in for 5 weeks, and 2 stomach infections as well. Last Friday I finally got the 2nd drain out, and Im believing and hoping I have come to the end of the complications from my hernia repair surgery.

Four days from now will be 3 months since I had the hernia repair surgery done.

Hoping that everyone is doing well.
