I was wondering does BC Medical pay for the Lap Band/Sleeve/Gastr. surgery?

Just curious from Edmonton, my neice is in Victoria....
I am on a program with Weight Wise at the Royal Alex Hospital.

BC Med does not cover the Lap Band but does cover the sleeve.  The wait here for surgery is 2-4 years, if she were to be referred to WW in Edmonton she would be waiting around 3 years.  If she has multiple co-morbidities and a BMI of atleast 50, she can also apply for Out of Country funding and could have here surgery in less than 6 months.
