Excellent!  If you have already had any of the tests I mentioned done in the past few months, take the results with you and give them to Kara (his assistant) and let him know.

And if I knew what I know now, I would start a food/exercise journal now and start working on that 10% weight loss.  It will help down the road.

By the way, are you really coming from Manitoba?

Food exercise journals that's where you track you're daily eating & exercise habits. Ok I can do that. Any other tests I should know?

He sent me for:

Psychiatric Exam
Colonoscopy
Abdominal Ultrasound
Endocrinologist Appt.
Dietician.

From what I understand, those are his "standard" tests.  He may change them up from patient to patient, depending on your health, but I think those are pretty standard.  When I first went, I also took my lung function tests from my lung specialist with me as well (although he didn't seem too interested in those at that point).

Yes, since we do not have a public program here in Manitoba yet. So these test do you know if he requires them to be done locally or can I have them done here in Manitoba?

I live in Surrey (near Vancouver) and he is in Victoria.  I was worried about having to go back and forth on the ferry for tests, but he said I could have them done close to home.  As long as all the tests are done, I don't think he cares where they are done.

I know where Surrey, BC is nice place from what I'm told. The thought about riding the ferry that many times make me feel tad green. I hope that I could do a few of the required tests here not that I wouldn't mind the occasional trip, it would get rather tough on wallet.

Keep all of your receipts for tax purpose. Chale are you getting the TAP forms.....
I have to do a scope at the end of the month, which is better then going in the other way!!!

I've actually done all of my tests in Victoria except for this one. I also had to see a blood specialist due to the blood clots....better safe then sorry though.

Hi there.  Yes, my Gp has been vedry good about getting the TAP forms for me.  Mind you, I've only gone twice, since I had all of the tests done in the Lower Mainland.  I go again in August and my GP's office will get a TAP form for me again.  They sure have saved me a lot of money (although apparently the woman at the other end of the line at MSP really gave my doctor's receptionist a hard time about sending a form).
