Just wondering if anyone else out there has been bothered by an Ulcer? I was diagnosed before Christmas by my surgeon who perfomed a scope that I have a HUGE ulcer. Ididn't get allot of info from him, just go on this medicine (parriot) and come back in 6-8 wks to recheck it.
Hmmmm.... I had to find out on my own that milk products were the worst thing, and of course I had milk or dairy every day in my diet.

I have an appt in a few days with a nutrionist. Just wondering if anyone had any tips after they had one.

thanks

My advise to you would be to phone Dr. M's office.  If you have an ulcer, you need to be treated.
It is important.

Hi, thanks... I have been in contact with Dr M and he performed another scope yesterday... guess the ulcer is still there and I meet with him again in 2 wks... so we'll see what happens.
my ulcer is at the connection of my new stomach and esphogus (spelling in wrong, I know)

I am on parriot and will be until I hear back from Dr M to stop...

thanks

Apparently a lot of people need to be on rabeprozole or pariet or some other drug after surgery.

Hi  Laurie.   I too was told I may have an ulcer but I was too close to my surgery to have a scope.  I had wicked pain  and it really set me back about 2 1/2 weeks.  I was in better shape  5 days post op than I was at 3 weeks.  Wicked pain up under my ribs and in my shoulders.  Not really nauseted but no desire at all to eat or drink.   Dr gave me Losec  a pill to reduce acid in your stomach. It worked  but I'm not sure its completely gone but I do feel some better.   I wonder how common this is.    I thought I was the only one.  Thanks for sharing  Sue.   Ontario  Canada
