Does anyone have any feedback?
I am more worried about not eating for two weeks than the actual surgery!

Hi:

I just had surgery 1 month ago, so it hasn't been that long for me and the Medifast.  I used the vanilla and added different kinds of Crystal Lite to make lots of different flavours.

At first it's really weird not eating, but the shakes do fill you up.  I spent the first two days driving around lamenting where I couldn't eat!  That passed after a few days.  See there is so much protein in Medifast that your body takes a long time to digest it, and it really gets you prepared for the surgery and the month with liquids, then puree.

I actually came to like it!  Believe me that is a big thing for me to say as I was a fast food junky!  Keep your head up and hit the Boards when you need someone to listen and you will do just fine.

I have lost the first 25 lbs. and I am so excited.  Come visit our New Brunswick Board, we are very active and offer each other lots of support.

Hi Chrissy,
Thanks for posting!

That is so great to hear!  Like I said, more worried about the medifast than the surgery...scared to not be able to eat!  I told my husband that he will have to make the kids lunches!

So the protein in the medifast is what keeps us full.  It will be hard to do at work.  I already pre-warned them that I am going on a detox/cleanse!  Don't want to tell them about the surgery!

I like my after dinner treats...I am usually pretty good at work during the day!

Wow, 25 lbs - very cool!  In the first month??  So looking forward to the changes in my life!
Yeah, the BC one is pretty quiet and lame....maybe everyone is focused on the Olympics...HAHAH!

Thanks again, I really appreciate your feedback!

Cheers,
Antonella

Antonella,

What surgery are you having?  I have only recently started looking into WLS.  At first I was determined to do the band because I wanted it done ASAP!  But, the more I read the more I started leaning towards VSG.  I am seeing my doctor at the end of the month and I am going to give him the information I have (he doesn't know that much about it) and he will do the referral to the doctor in Victoria.  If that is going to take too long, I might self-pay and head down to Mexico.

Where in BC are you?  I am in Kamloops.

Oh, so I am on topic, I'm sure you will do just fine with the Medifast!

Take care,
Heather.

Hi Heather,
I live in Vancouver and I am doing the Lapband at the False Creek Surgical Center in Vancouver.  The great part is with the procedure they give you a year of maintenance with the nurses, physicians and dieticians.  I think this is more important and such a huge factor when looking for a facility or physician.  Its state of the art!

I will tell you more next week after my consult!

Good luck!
Cheers,
Antonella
