Has anyone else had a bad experience with LapBand?

I had a lap band put in about two years ago but had it removed about 6 months ago due to severe vomiting, acid reflux and ensophigitis.  It was like my body rejected this thing and wanted it out.  I was in sevre pain for months from the ensophigitus.  By the time my Doctor removed the band it had slipped down and made my stomach blow up like a balloon.

Yup, tons of people from what I read and hear at various support groups.  And from the stats.
Band slippage, erosion, port problems, etc.  And what seems to be trouble for everyone is finding that "sweet spot."  Getting it just right, not too loose, and not too tight - seems to be a challenge.
But kudos to the lucky ones who have made it work for them.
Are you yourself now thinking of a revision ?

Whats a revision?  I have had the band removed and now I am looking at a more permanent solution either gastric sleeve or bypass?

Because you have already had one WLS, then any other procedure would be called a "revision."
It might be a great idea to spend some time reading other posts on  the "revision board."

my friend had lapbanding in October 08, and it was in wrong as well, sewn on wrong side of muscle according to the 2nd specialist, he was going to do a revision if possible or remove it. In the meantime my friend passed away 6 weeks ago. she had a stomach blockage, and was septic when they found out. If you do anything at all, make sure if you have any problems you seek medical attention, I would rather have my friend still here, as would her children, and the extra weight, than her gone from us. take care and I wish you well.
