Does anyone know how to speed up the dates for when you can meet the one and only surgeon in Victoria to do a gastric sleeve?

There are three bariatric surgeons in Victoria, Dr. Amson , Dr. Tang works in the same office as Dr. Tang but I believe he takes the less complicated cases.  Dr. Rusnak who is retiring in August, but there will be a bariatric surgeon to replace him.

What I did was keep an eating and exercise journal.  The surgeons really believe in exercising, its what will help keep the weight off long term.  I faxed my surgeon and explained my part of the commitment to exercising.  If they know you are trying this will help.

I advocated for myself, I even did my out of country letter to MSP I was declined the first time, but I got in for surgery pretty quickly in Victoria.  A bariatric surgeon must fill out your out of country form and you should send a detailed letter with it explaining how your life has been impacted by your weight, what you cant do because of your weight and all the things you have tried to lose weight.

If you are going to a weight loss support meeting then definitely include this in your letter to MSP and let your surgeon know as well.

Hope Ive helped

Hi,
I know that the waitlist just to get into see the dr in Victoria is quite lengthy.  My Mom has been waiting since last November and she has some health issues.  Not sure that there is anything that could speed it up, perhaps you could ask to be on a cancellation list?  Good luck
