Dr Rusnak told me he is retiring before next fall. He said he would get me to see his other specialists and go from there. He was extremely nice and said that a Dr from the east or down east is taking over his practice and will continue the surgeries. So heres hoping this is true, or that Dr R does not retire. Do not mean to worry anybody just thought I would pass on what I was told. This was my first appointment with him. Busy man 21/2 hrs behind but worth the wait.

Glad you got a chance to see the good doctor.  Yes, he has been planning on retiring for some time now.  Kara, his office assistant said that  he would not go until he had a replacement who was able to continue to offer bariatrics to his patients.  So, here's hoping that is true!

Quite honestly, I hope I still get him for my surgery.  I finish my appointments at the beginning of  May and I should then be scheduled for surgery soon after.  I hope this is true, , but what the heck to do I know - Dr. R thought I would be done by the end of April and I can tell you that I am definitely NOT done.

Hi... yes it's true he does plan to retire. When I first went to see him months ago he told me that was his plan...I was pretty happy after seeing him that he said he would be my surgeon. I think he is such a caring man. Hopefully he will stay on a while longer for you too.

I had to wait a long time as well when I went. Over an 1 1/2 hrs till I got into see him. Being such a busy surgeon must say allot about his dedication.

Good luck to everyone...
