Maybe getting Excited???
Congratulations on your appointment with Dr Rusnak in March. First thing he will ask you is if you are exercising, its key to the long term success of this surgery. If you can keep an eating journal and show him, and tell him how you are making healthier changes thats great as well.
If you are going to a weight loss support group that is great as well, great source of information, encouragement and great way to make friends that can relate to what you are going through and long term they say this helps keep off the weight. Have you read Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies Book yet, its a great source of information. Im only two weeks post op and I keep referring back to it, I only wished I had read it more before the surgery.
He will send you to see his team of specialists, for any tests before surgery. Encrendonologist, respirologist (you may need to have an overnight oximetry test to determine if you have sleep apnea, see the dietician and closer to surgery ECG, chest xray, bloodwork, but that is pretty close to surgery.
Let us know how your appt goes.
Suzanne
I went to the same Dr Rusnik in January, a really nice man.
Like another person advised you, once he has determined if you are a candidate, he will send you to his team of specialists. I have finished seeing the doctors I needed to see, and now I go back in April to meet him again, and he will give me my surgery date. I'm very excited to find out when it will be. I've been reading the weight loss surgery for dummies book as recommended. and in there you will find helpful things to do before and during and after so I understand.
good luck, can't wait to hear how things go!!
