I am new and have my first appointment with Dr. Rusnak In April. Any information or thoughts on what I can expect or should have ready for him would be greatly appreciated.

Hi and good luck, I found the book weightloss for dummies a great help with information. On Dr Rusnak, I see him next month and would be happy to give you heads up after.

Hi!
I saw him in Sept and am currently finishing up my various tests.
He is a very nice man but sometimes you have to wait awhile when you see him.
So bring something to read.
Good Luck

Hi Jim,

I seen him in November :)

Where you given any estimates of waiting time?

I see Dr Miller, not even sure who he is, in April and seeing Respiroligst here
in Surrey,

Well I was suppose to go for surgery on March 3rd but it got pushed back to March 24 as Rusnak was going out of town that day. so the whole process is taking about 7 months.
Dr. Miller is the endocrinologist or hormone doctor. He has you do a bunch of blood tests and looks for high blood sugar etc. I found him to be a pretty nice guy.
Hope it helps

I saw Rusnak on Wed. Jan 28 and it was very positive.  I will be booked for various tests over the next little while and then surgery is projected to be April.  He really wants to see that you are clear on how you got obese in the first place.  He also wants you to be exercising on a regular basis whatever that looks like for you.  Any tests that you can have done in advance are a bonus as it does decrease your wait time.  The down side of that is that he likes you to use his "team" of specialists.  However, he did not seem to be too unhappy that I brought all kinds of test results with me to my appointment.
A friend from another forum sums it up well when she says "Don't wait for  your ship to come in, row out to meet it." In other words, be your own best advocate.
