Who does the GIB here? Or is it still done?

I've been banded for about 6 weeks now but a friend of a friend is interested in getting a GIB, does anyone know who does it in the lower mainland? thanks, Cathy

as far as I am aware, the JIB is no longer performed anywhere in Canada... the RNY Gastric Bypass is, and is covered by MSP, and the Sleeve (the one that Janice B got) is also covered.

I had the JIB done by Dr. Cleator in Vancouver about 5 years ago. I believe the previous reply was correct; he was the last surgeon to do this type of surgery in Canada and he has retired.

In my opinion, there are better surgeries, that's why it's obselete!
