I've been emailed since I live in canada about the waiting list for bariatric surgery...
if you want lapband it's about 6 months but if you want a by pass or sleve its 3 or more yrs... the work up to it is just as long......... dietian,sprimomity,6 month food plan that has been documinted by either WW ect, shrink, pulimonary functions and sleep trial... it's harder to get in so that at the end of it all the time goes by slowly .. it wasnt like this but the demand is to great.. its better to have you province health send you to the states.. surg there is only a few months.. sad but true

the lists of Dr rusnak, dr amos and Dr tang are over 3 yrs for them unless you want a lapband... the OR time in BC is at its worst and not getting better any time soon with no funding.. but DR Starr in Ontario is about 1 yr but you can go on a cancel list... a few friends that had it done said they were from start to finish in 1 yr!! Holy s**t!! and the health care in ONtrario is getting better...... hope this helps

For Dr, Tang! Actually it is less than a year.... Yeah! Frustrating, when you are one in the line of ducks for DR. Amson... But with Dr. Tang... from the first appt to the surgery less than a year! 9 months- 11 months... He is the guy right now! julie
