OOC Approved

Hi all I just wanted to let you know that BCMed called and my application was approved yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss. I just need to call Seattle and get things going. I know it's probably be a wait but that's ok because i know it won't be a 3 year wait. I was feeling down because my doc had to up my dosage of medication but now i know there's a light so thank-you to the ladies like Sim and Sharon and Janice for your advice. I'm sure i'll be asking a million question now as i've forgotten tons of stuff. I know this board is quiet but people on here do know what they are talking about. Thanks again Elisa

Congratulations Elisa, I have just started this process and waiting to see if I can get a specialist to sign my OOC form. I'm currently at 350 lbs and waiting to see Dr. Amson, my appointment is for 2010 for the consultation. Congratulations again that is very good news. Suzanne B

Hi Suzanne, thanks for the congrats. I don't know if you know but a doc trained by Amson is now also taking patience. His name is Dr. Tang and maybe you could get your doc to refer you to him, they are in the same office. I do know that people are getting in to see him in a few months. Elisa

Hi Elisa, Thanks for the info. I actually faxed Dr. Amson's office today and asked if I can be switched to Dr. Tang, I had heard at the WLS support group in NV last Tuesday that Dr. Tang was doing surgeries as well. I also faxed them my medical history so hopefully this will help. Will follow up with a call tomorrow to Dr. Amson's office as well. I'm at 350 lbs right now and cant imagine if I have to wait three of four years for surgery where my weight will be. I also asked to be put on a cancellation list as well so maybe those two combined will help me get in sooner. Thanks again appreciate the info. Glad to here you got approved for OOC. Can you tell me when you applied for the OOC. I'm seeing a specialist this week on Friday and hoping maybe she can sign my form as well. Take care, Suzanne North Vancouver
