Hi new to the site, I was wondering who had surgery in bc canada and who was the surgern. Also Im thinking of having the surgery any comments out there would be nice Im so sick of being over weight. Also does bc medical pay for it. Help me

Hello You can get Gastric By pass surgery in BC. Yes its covered, BUT!!! you may have to wait 5 years. Bull Crap, I know. I think gastric by pass is the only weight loss surgery covered by BC Medical. Some of us on this site applied for out of Country surgery down in Seattle and we got it. BC medical will pay for out of country if you meet the guide lines. Its a alot of paper work and doctor visits to get the approval, but its worth it. Once you get the approval for Seattle you can get the surgery within months. Hope this helps. Welcome to the site. Sharon
