Hello everyone.. I am new to Vancouver, as I moved from London 2 months ago. I had my D.S Surgery back in April 07, in Michigan. I have lost 110 lbs so far. I would love to hear from all people here in BC I know it is a bit hard for BC people to get out of the country Approval. My fingers are crossed for everyone who is applying. Yours Sherif kardousab@yahoo.ca

Welcome, I am new to this forum. I have VSG tentatively scheduled for Aug. 24 with Dr. Joya in Puerto Vallarta. I am a self pay as I know it would not be paid for. The waiting time for surgery in Victoria is 4 - 5 years and don't want to wait that long. Congratulations 110 pounds!! How has your WL journey been? Any words of wisdom? Cheers Maria Mahoa...

Hi Gale, I am also researching weight loss surgery here in b.c. I am curious to know the cost of your surgery in pureto Vallarta.

I just booked my wls with Dr Joya in Puerto Vallarta and the cost is $12,500 u.s. whi*****ludes everything apart from the food you buy in the hotel of course. Plus if you want to take someone with you then they need to pay their own way. I am going on March 17, 2008 arrive at 2:30 in the afternoon, straight to the hospital for testing and surgery am in the hospital for 4 days (including day of surgery) and then back to the hotel, you only need to stay for 4 but I am staying one extra. Then home on the 9th day. If you want more info about Dr Joya he has his own discussion board through yahoo groups. Good Luck Elaine
