Surgery In B.C.

I don't know how it is now but back in 1991 I had a Verticle Banded Gastoplasy with Dr. March in St. Mary's hospital in New Westminster. I had to pay $1000. for the surgery and Dr. March got the rest of his money from MSP by performing a gall bladder removal of a perfectly healthy gall bladder. At the time I did not realize thay is what he was doing and what I had agreed to until I was being prepped for surgery. You needed to spend a week in the hospital and basically he had two beds that he kept open for his surgery by keeping you there for a week. I did manage to lose over 200 lbs but gained alot back having kids. I wish all of you that are having to go to other parts of Canada for the surgery. I had a friend who also had dr. March and let's just say I was lucky to have gotten through what I did as I did.

My mom had her surgery done by Dr March and had done great! She didn't have her gall bladder removed and she has had no problems at all. I guess all patients are different.
