Out of Country Applications

Hi Everyone, Well we are all in the same boat, going nowhere. I will share with you what I have found out from the support group in Kelowna. You have all seen Dr. M. Now you go to your family Dr. You take everything you have had done re: testing, scopes etc. On the application it asks have you seen a recognized specialist? Yes It doesn't even ask whether he approves or anything. In our case he does. Fill it out, send it in and wait. 2 women in my group did that exact thing and got approved to have surgery done in Seattle within weeks of sending the forms. It is amazing to me that the government of this province would rather spend 3X more money to have it done in the US than spend a small amount now and save millions later in health costs. I am also really upset that Anne & Trish whom I talked to last WEEK not being on the same page as Dr. M. Janice & Sim, I am so sorry that you had to face this disappointment in person and bear the bad news to us. If I still lived in the lower mainland I would be picketing the Coastal Health Authority in my lawn chair. Sarah

Hi janice, They both had their surgeries done this year. I know Jeannie had hers in May and I can't remember when Marlene had hers. I will email her and find out. Sarah
