Hi people! I haven't posted since the beginning of Jan., 2006. Did you read the Province Paper front page article about the gastirc bypass wait list? Heard about it from Leanne Legare's, Mom - Marcia S. Get on the net and check out the letter to the editor that Leanne wrote. Kudos Leanne! Since then I have been trying to bypass the long lists in BC. Filed an out of country without the Specialist. Just using my shrink and GP. Waited 5 weeks and wasn't approved. Very PO'd GP. Last week Thurs. I went to my shrink and told him I had been turned down by MSP. He then proceeded to tell me he had another patient whom he had done a letter for, to another surgeon. She had been given approval to have surgery by him in VANCOUVER! He gave me the name Thurs. and went to my GP for the referral and have an consult on June 29, 2006. Bet you want to be my new best friend to find out the guys name? There a actually going to be 3 Surgeons doing this approved procedure at Vancouver General Hospital. They are to start surgeries this summer. Yes it's for real. Okay already, the Guy who I have tha appoinment with is DR. ADAM MENEGHETTI - PH# 604-875-4498

Hi Sarah, I want to thank you for posting this doctor's name and phone number here. I called his office today and the receptionist told me that they were now booking initial consults for mid July. I typed up a letter of introduction and took it in to my family physician this afternoon and he is going to fax my referral and letter over to Dr Meneghetti's office asap. I will come back and post again with the date of my initial consult. Again thank you so much for sharing this info. Janice

Just want to add that I have an initial consult date of July 17, 2006. It was a cancellation and I took it because she said that the next available appt would not be until September. I am crossing my fingers that my appt is not cancelled. Janice
