Topic: RE: Opinions Please!
Tried to reply by pm but it's not working for some reason......
I don't know Dr. Sprunger personally but have heard good things about him.
I wouldn't send ANYONE to Dr. Schlesinger. My personal experience was the worst of the worst and I ended up having to go to CA to have major surgery with a Revision specialist to save my life. The same specialist (Dr. Ara Keshishian) has fixed other "Schlesinger" patients as well.
Keep doing your research and check into other programs & surgeons. The informational seminars are free and the more you know the better your chances for success will be!
Have you looked into a DS? Check out www.dsfacts.com
Good luck with your journey! Thin & Healthy totally rocks!!!
(btw...I'm on a 4 week roadtrip so I apologize to others I haven't been able to answer.....I'm not on the puter much while I'm having my adventure!!!)

I want to know people's opinion's of Dr. Schlesinger (Tempe St. Lukes) and Dr. Sprunger (Tempe St. Lukes). They do the surgery differently as well, open RNY vs. Lap RNY. I know that ultimately the decision is mine, but I was hoping for some insight. :)I don't know Dr. Sprunger personally but have heard good things about him.

NOT Schlesinger! Not if you value your health. I don't know much about Sprunger.

He is a great doctor. I opted for Mexico but at that time he would have been my choice had I stayed in the US.

I'm not sure why it was postponed.
I did see that Dr. Husted has moved to Phoenix. He's the only other DS surgeon in AZ that I'm aware of. Do you know of others? I saw one in Tucson but when I called for info, they said they don't actually do the DS.
I've heard a lot of complaints about Dr. Husted that send up some red flags. The reviews I've read on him are all good, but there's a lot of concern about how many times he's moved his practice and how hard he is to reach.
Being in the first group of patients for a new surgery is risky, indeed. There are a lot of things to consider. I have an appointment with Dr. Blackstone and Melissa in September to go over some of my concerns.
There is a very specific reason he has moved a great deal. I wanted to know so i called and asked him. It made sense.
instead of making assumptions perhaps facts might be a better bet on if moving is good or bad.
I'd go to Husted any 'ol day over Blackstone.
Husted
Juarez
Fang
I think they are the best in the valley.

Noooooo, I couldn't get off your spam list last time I signed up for a consult. Besides, at that time I didn't realize you were not in AZ. I'm going to Mexico for plastics.

My Sister's Closet, Plato's Closet (or something like that?)......
And...you may consider just posting here what you've got and what sizes....I remember someone a while ago selling a big bag of clothes to some grateful to have it person! One person's "extras" is another person's dream come true!!!
(consider a clothing exchange? I think Donna at Banner Gateway encourages people to bring clothing to trade at her support meetings. I have a big box of size 0's, 2's & 4s if interested)

Hiya Ann!!!
I'll bet you could zipline after a little shoulder therapy? How's it feeling after your surgery? ...... I was just weeks out of my major surgery and was a little worried about it. In fact, I kind of fudged on the pre-zipline paperwork so I could do it But.....the real strength needed to be in the arms so my mid section was just fine. I got an inner giggle over the posted weight limit! There was definitely a time when I wouldn't have been able to zip cuz of the weight restriction!!! ..... I was NOT however prepared for the fear I felt at first when I peered over the edge 150 ft down!!....It disappeared after I started swishing through the trees
Say hi to all of your Sun City support group folks! I've got to get back to work ONE OF THESE DAYS but want to get to the early morning group sometime soon! I've missed all the WLS buds!
Hugggzzz to you!
