Topic: 9th day since VSG in Mexicali & doing great!
First time I've posted on the AZ board. Just wanted to give kudos to Dr. Aceves, and staff and Almater Hospital. My experience exceeded my expectations. I feel wonderful, I've lost 10 pounds so far, and I'm looking forward to getting back into last summer clothes. Some of you know I had my lapband about a year ago. I'm glad I made the choice to go to Mexicali.

You may want to try meetup.com. They have all sorts of hiking and walking groups listed. It is all free. Once you go to meetup.com main site just put in what you are looking for such was walking or hiking or exercise and them mesa az and it should show you the groups in your area.
Feel free to PM if you have further questions. I went from being basically a couch potato to becoming and avid hiker (doing a 10 mile hike this AM) through meet up groups)

Topic: Any help with te other 20% my insurance does not cover for surgery??
I have an appointment with my surgeon on te 20th and have already been told I need to come up with $3,000 my insurance doesn't cover...Does anyone know where I can get help with taht, I have already been denied through care credit and surgeryloans. Can't afford the money out of pocket and really don't have anyone to ask to help. Any suggestions would be great!!

I live in Mesa, belong to Fitness works and trying to find an exercise buddy (female).
Had lapband sept 2009 still need to lose 25 to 30lbs (I'll know when I get there).
Or anything like exercise walks I can get involved in. I have some physical limitations
but nothing I can't work with.

If you live in the West Valley, there's a meeting on the 1st Saturday of the month at 10:30 at Banner Estrella, the graduate group meets the 3rd Saturday of the month at the same place (over 1 year out). The Sun City group meets the 2nd Saturday of the month at the Sun City Room at the corner of 107th & Coggins in Sun City at 10:30 (not in February though so send a message if you're interested in attending).
