No my weight dropped really fast until about a month ago, I've lost 99 lbs in 7 months.
I had the lap band for a year and a half, then my doc filled it to much and it slipped, had it removed and revised at same time on Nov 2 2009.
My doc wasn't gonna touch me again after that so I went to Dr. Blackstone. She gave me options to replace it, RNY or the sleeve.
Yes I went through the whole process again, but surprisingly it was easier to get approved the 2nd time. I have United Health EPO.
I didn't have the same surgeon, but he did do my friends revision. Her band corroded (not a big fan of the band).

I NERDS!!!
My labs aren't doing real good. I'm working really hard to get them up.
My Wednesday morning support group is off and running well. This last week was really awesome. I'm so pleased.

I'm doing great, two years out, maintaining within 5 pounds of my goal weight, rocking my labs, and I've completed two half marathons, training for my 3rd and looking at a full marathon next year!
That's the short it...can't wait to hear from the rest of AZ on how they are doing!!

Day of surgery - 252.5 Highest weight - 269 Goal weight - 134, reached!!
I had a medically necessary revision from E-Rny to a Duodenal Switch on May 12th. At 6 weeks post-op, I'm finally feeling human again and am learning to manage with my new tummy. Unlike the Rny where you felt "full" with a pain in the chest almost immediately; I have a delayed full that hits almost too late and seems to make me full all over!!! It's going to take a big learning curve but I'm loving my new restriction after not having any for almost 5 years!
I had gained weight to go into my revision and have lost 13 pounds so far. I have about 10 to 15 more I'd like to take off so am trying to figure out how many protein drinks I should have vs how much protein with food and am trying to sneak in carbs and sugar when I know I shouldn't!!!!
I've been searching through the low carb, graduate and off-track support sites to rally support for my commitment to go low carb and get back on track with healthier food choices. (sigh) Food addictions aren't cured with ANY weight loss surgery!!!
I'm taking a leave of absence from work and am wanting to reinvent myself as a strong body who exercises with passion. Believe it - Be it!!!
Anyone who works out at L.A. Fitness and wants a workout pal? I'd love to make some exercise dates!!!
I am going to jump back onto the support group circuit and get to as many as I can. I stayed at goal weight last year, survived my malnutrition and kept focused on better health by staying in the support group game!!!!
Life is crazy with highs and lows in the economy and "stuff" that happens with friends and family. It's rough to keep on target all the time so I'm trying to convince myself that "baby steps" is acceptable in hopes it can keep me sane.
So, that's my update.
How's everyone else doing?
Joyce
Are you out there? Our board has slowed down!
How about a short (or long if you wish) little note on where you're at on your journey? What's new?
Is everyone out there at goal and just crazy busy with life?
1. Was your weightloss slower because of the revision?
2. How long did you have the lapband?
3. When did you get your revision?
4. Did Dr Juarez talk about replacing the band with another band?
5. Did you have to go thru the whole approval process again?
6, What insurance did you have?
7. What happened to your band to require a revision?
Just any info would really help...again thank you so much, I am so glad that I got a reponse from someone with the same surgeon that got the same thing I am hoping to get.
